Mara is a Toronto-based comic artist and author, and a freelance illustrator. She also moonlights as an erotic life-model, tattoo designer and paste-up graffiti artist.

Her comics have been published in several anthologies including Carte Blanche; Sequential: Canadian Comics News & Culture; and Side A: The Music Lovers Anthology. She has exhibited at The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Arts Festival in New York, among other numerous art and comic shows, and she created and co-curated a group exhibition of 17 artists called The Rated R Show.

Mara lives in Kensington Market with her mutt River and her cat Tom Waits, and is currently working on a collection of her comics. She is also organizing and accepting submissions for 'On Nights Like This', an anthology of comics by survivors of trauma.
